You heard it here folks, Malone's water ski team won nationals (again?) this year. At least they did according to his facebook :-P I've not independently verified this reporting. ?? But seriously Malone is an awesomely multitalented dude who in addition to kicking ass at homeworld, rocks at water skiing (and he probably has a real job doing something electrifying). Congratulations Malone!

Hey Dolts! I wanted to start a "Summer Update" thread. Things have been silent for us, and that makes sense. Despite that, I wanted to give you all an update on my life and hear about yours. ?? If you guys remember, when I started playing with you I was a freshman in high school. About a month ago I graduated from Brown University with a degree in political science (bet you never would have guessed that, huh?) Brown was a wonderful place where I was lucky to be surrounded by intelligent passionate people. ?? This fall, I'll be in Washington D.C. working at the Brookings Institution. It's a non-partisan (really!) think-tank that looks at many many issues. Cybersecurity technology and policy will be my focus area, specifically the effect of corporate espionage and how security technology transfers. ?? My girlfriend who I met during freshman orientation (same dorm) and I are still together. On Monday we're leaving for a 2 week trip through Peru together. She'll be in California this fall working as an engineer at Intel, so we're trying to get good time in together before being apart. ?? Hey Border! That's awesome that your school got that grant--hopefully you'll put those iPads to good use! There are some really cool science learning apps out there, I'm sure you'll have fun learning them all ?? The news in Fiirks land is that I'm now halfway done with senior year of Brown. I'm applying for a few PhD programs in poli sci. I hope to study how cyber threats affect barriers to entry into war and how states perceive cyber threats. My girlfriend from freshman year and I continue to date happily, tomorrow morning I'm catching a 6:30 am flight to Utah to join her family for a few days of skiing at Deer Valley. I'm only a little excited ?? Next semester I'll be the head TA for a course in my school's comp sci department, cybersecurity and international relations. It combines my cyber love with my poli sci background; I took the course last year and I'm very excited to teach it! ?? I tried my hand a few nights ago at a round of HW1 and was totally useless--Volans can attest to how poorly I played. Hopefully in January I'll have some time to get rounds in between my other travels (NYC, Maine). ?? Happy Birthday Isaac Newton!

I just want to let everyone know that I played a few games yesterday with quite a few people and had an absolute blast. ?? -Got butt kicked by an old AoD when I made some map miscalculation -Played some noobs and had to hold back -A good 2v2 -A fun 4v4 where SF (me and Osgier) did not come out on top -A fun 1v1 with BalogunHG (!) on subj ?? Yeah, 5 homeworld games in one day. I couldn't believe it either.

Yeah alright. You gents can destroy my GPA during my senior year. I accept. ?? But seriously--good idea. I'll be getting game ranger going then!

While I'm not attending SF fest, I did read this today and see that Malone was locked out of his account. If you guys catch him on some mode of communication, let me know that I've reset his password and that the new one is in his facebook inbox.

Dear Bro-skis, ?? It is with deep regret I write this. Recently the elders of our clan have come to the conclusion that Leviathan is no longer suited to be a member of our team. After an extensive discussion (lasting over several months), we have voted unanimously to revoke Leviathan's membership. This means both private forum access and the right to wear SF tags in-game. We have not banned Leviathan from the forum outright, however he has been told that further violations of the terms of the forums can--and will--result in a permanent ban. ?? This was not a decision we came to lightly. It is not a decision any of us relish. As you may recall it was with reluctance that we accepted Levi, and it is with sadness that we bid him farewell. I speak for myself when I ask that we not have animosity towards him. I ask that we treat Levi with respect as we would any other gamer, team-mate or otherwise. ?? Please do not conspire to give Levi access to the private areas of the forum. Please do not share with Levi addresses of Ventrillo or Teamspeak servers that we use.
