I was under the impression that we had no admin, and that there were people who could view SF areas who shouldn't. Now Zero and I are admins, and we have fixed that problem. Also I would like to see different area's on the forum for the different games that the SF are in. Also I want a section that just I have access to for the stories I am putting out. We lost a years worth of posts because of their @#%$ up, and not having any off-site backup... jesus.??????Zulu and Myself wanted this move not only because of that reason but we wanted something fresh, new and to unite ALL SOBAN under one roof. I do believe Pit's HW2 members have a forum which has split the clan. Zero|SF Posted December 2, 2005 Author Report Share Posted December 2, 2005 Having our own dedicated forums and website opens up a HUGE amount of opportunites for us and many other people.??We can host a wide range of game related files (patches, tools, recordings, maps), other clans sites - as Zulu and I envisioned and have different sections in the forums for our different games. Since Drew is already set up for this, I will mail a check to him and he can put it in for me. Drew, if you could email me your new addy, I'll get you a check sometime this week.??????On a different note:??I just took a job working at a nearby Chrysler plant. I thought I was going to have December off, but they needed some guys to work night shift (6pm to 4 am), 7 days a week. This should last a month or two. After this I am going to an Ethanol Plant and that will be normal construction hours(7-330). ??The Good: I'll make over 3 grand a week, should be a good Xmas.??The Bad: I won't be on evenings for a while.??The Ugly: I won't see much of my family either.??But it was either this or Unemployment - $329 a week.??I'll check on the forums daily and keep up with your shenanigans. Plus I want my section for my story. I would like to have each seperate chapter have its own thread and no one else have access to putting posts on the story itself. One of the strengths of HG is that the forums have stayed exactly where they were from the very begining. Moving forums has been the death of many clans because of the fact that players come and go and if your forums stay put, the clan always has a home to come home to.??????That is why we have maintained separate websites to host things, but always kept ezboard as our home. ??????Works for PSA as well.??????Now as far as the lost data caused by a hacker attack. There is lots of stuff that they never did mannage to bring back. I think that it is appaling that they took it in the butt from the hacker the way that they did. They should have had backups. I know they said they had backups and that the hacker deleted those too but a good backup should be offsite somewhere, not just sitting there for a hacker to delete. If it is that easily accessible then there may as well not even be a backup. It should have taken a matter of hours to restore the boards and we should have, at maximum, lost a few days worth of recent posts. I would be ashamed to call myself a professional orginization if I was so totally unprepared as they were.??????????That being said, Silly has a good point about stability being a good thing. But I think also that moving on to bigger and better things can be good as well. You can always leave the ezboard forum up with a big "CLICK HERE TO GO TO OUR NEW FORUMS" banner at the top ??????????Winners say: I'm not as good as I ought to be. - Losers say: I'm not as bad as a lot of others.
