Hey guys i just tried to log into hw cata and hw and i cant get into either lobby. Says DIR server is down. ANyone else having this prob or is it just me?

yeah i got kicked off of won last night…still cant log in…what bothers me most though is not that won is down again, but that yesterday was august 16th…the day sierra was going to “terminate multi-player functionality” for a bunch of games…

Now I’m not even getting a server down message. Just sits at sending log in info.
They might try to terminate HW1 and HWC from being played due to them being such old games or just down momentarily.
Ya, I had the same problem with HWC I tried logging in to test something and it gave me that message…witch kinda sucks.

Wee I’m double posting. Good news. WON seems to live, though only sort of kind of. You can log into WON sucessfully, and get as far as querying the chat server until it tells you, “Failed to connnect to DIR Server”. I don’t know what a DIR server is, but we have problems with them :\
DIR shut down then? They are linked with WON I guess…but maybe Sierra is doing something about this thing DIR and already fixed WON
I called vivendi support, no help. They don’t support the game and couldent tell me weather the server was running or not.
I shot some emails to sierra. Well see soon (hopefully) if they are of any help.
I’d suggest networking with others, try to get them active on the forums here and start nagging support.

no hw i thought i would come on but server wont connect…my sad …can i get a cookie? 
Begins to sing its the end of WON as we know it =( This may be it thou so we may have to use Hamachi. Thou that wont work for me as im using an older verison of Windows as i dont trust the new verison all that well for gaming wise.
I think by “thou” you mean though; I’m not sure if you’re trying to address us or not.
According to this thread people have trouble using Hamatchi in conjuction with HW1. There was also this thread from awhile back about creating our own community HW1 server connection project type thing.
Unless somebody here knows how to authenticate a CD key (cough Zero can make you one) I don’t think we’ll get off the ground with a community based server.
Pleasantly enough, if this was done by modding the source code (a laborious process) we’re allowed as the EULA states:

they said that they “may” be able to get the servers back as soon as they can (about 2 weeks at most hopefully)
