Are we going to Mexico this year?
I can’t believe a year has passed.
Every time I have such a blast.
I am unsure how safe it is to cross into Mexico via texas. There is a lot going on near the borders lately. But if there is intel that says otherwise better get in line for passports.

Wow, I thought this thread would generate a little excitement. I don’t think anyone will be driving if we go visit Chainster in Mexico. He doesn’t live near the border. We had some discussion last year about having two opportunities to get together this year. One in the USA and the other in Mexico. Let the suggestions flow boys and girls.
Yes passports will be something that takes 2-3 months to get. We need to get that ball rolling soon if we don’t already have one.
SF Fest '11 Woohooo!!!
Yes, Chain’s place is WAY too far to drive. But we are putting the cart before the horse (I sound like my Grandpa with that one). Does Chain want to host it?
So far, I have heard of 3 possibilities:
Reaper, who has been talking about doing this for quite some time
Chain, who mentioned it at Fatboy’s a couple years ago - it would be awesome to go there but pretty expensive plane tickets might limit attendance
My place, which is always a good place is something else doesn’t work out
Would anyone else like to nominate a location?

No on a more serious note, I hope to be able to get out to where ever we have it this year, but it will depend on dates as I will me going off to uni at the end of August

I believe I heard from the horses mouth that SF Fest Mexico will not be taking place this year due to the situation in Mexico and a lot of people not being able to make it. Chain had started planning it, then canceled. I think its on for 2012.
I would love to host SF Fest sometime in the coming years as I will be purchasing my first house with my wife this year. The one we wanted did not get a good inspector review so we wouldn’t have a place ready in time.
I’m good with any place this year as both Reaper and Malone have offered their places and both are close to me =D
Not visited either one yet either. Malone is close to Fatboy, and when we had it there we had a great turnout so it might be a good central location for everyone. We can pick people up in Chicago and be @ Malone’s quickly. Mid August or early summer work best for me (Mid May-Early June). If I get a job, it may not matter depending on new employee vacation polices. One place interested in me has a 90 day no vacation probation period.

I must say, the older I get, the faster time does go!!!
I would love to host the SF fest this year, but I will be unable to. I am expanding my business, and will be working quite a bit more then I do now. I may even have a hard time attending this year due to the expansion, but I will make every effort to be there.
I always love heading to Malone’s home town, and I think when we have it up in that neck of the woods, we get great turn out.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you this summer and I hope life is treating all of us well!!

Well, unless someone else really wants it, I would be happy to host this year. Jennie and I moved into a nice house that has some extra room, a nice basement, and a large backyard for those of you who want to “rough it”. Our river is always good for skiing and jet skiing. We have a shooting range just out of town but I have no idea how private it is. I think a float down the Wisconsin River might be in order too - Drew, Reaper and I had a lot of fun and I almost finished off my own pony keg of Heineken. 
If you guys have any other ideas let me know so we can start researching it and putting a schedule together.

Let’s do it at Malone’s this year!!! I personally prefer the middle part of the month. I’m not especially picky on which month. We definitely want to make sure the water has warmed up some, I don’t think we should have it before June. I’m good with mid-August as well. Malone - let us know your ski tourney schedule so we can plan around that.

That leaves June 10, 11 and 12. Possibly July 15, 16 and 17. Or August 19, 20 21. The August date is probably getting into the start of school. Syntax prefers to not do July. Anyone else interested needs to chime in. Please facebook or text anyone you know that might be interested in coming but isn’t active on the boards.

I’m in summer school from June 13th-August 5th. Fall semester starts August 22nd. So No matter what me making it may be difficult. We’ll see. My schedule is still tentative. Shouldn’t plan anything around me.
To have any chance of making it this year, i.e. get enough funds together, it would need to be as late in the year as possible. August could be good but don’t hold out for me.
Hey guys. Sorry I haven’t been on here. I know Drew, you keep texting me! But I just don’t have the time anymore. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it this year, perhaps next year. I’m in the middle of changing my life around, getting a new job, about to move in with my girlfriend and get engaged. O_o Things are pretty busy around here. Drew, I def keep looking forward to your texts and updates bro, I appreciate that!

Based on the responses it sounds like August 19, 20 21 would be the best for people.
PitViper - we all know nothing happens the first day of class. If you get back on the 23rd or 24th you’ll be fine, plus you’ll just have ended summer right before needing to get into a working mindset.
August also gives Air the latest date possible to try and get the funds together.
Sounds like things will be busy for Vic. We’re only asking 3 days to give you a GREAT bachelor party (hint: excuse to fianc??). Glad to hear things are going that well for you though.
Once we get the date set I’ll start hyping it on GameRanger to Economist, Havoc, Chainster, and Project (who just returned this year) + others who are still active.

I wanted to agree with Syn about the August dates. They will work out for me as well. I am hoping this will give Airwave, Pit, and Vic all a chance to come. I know it is hard to arrange the money, time, and permission from our spouses, but we always have a boat load of fun.
I hope to talk to you all soon, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone this August!!

Yep, time to start nailing things down and getting a list of guests so we can plan stuff. I’ll be coming.
Malone has been locked out of the forums, his password won’t work or something. We are still a go for SFest in Janesville, WI the weekend of August 20th. Malone is going to take off work on Friday. I hope to arrive sometime on Thursday evening and will stay until Sunday afternoon. Fatboy and his wife are coming for sure. Can’t wait to see those that make it this year.
