The purpose of WON Lobby Spy is to allow you to monitor the WON lobby when you have Homeworld minimized. This is very useful when there isn't much activity in the lobby and you are waiting for a game. You can do other things like surf websites while you wait without having to keep alt-tabbing to Homeworld.
As you can see from the picture, it's a simple tool. On the top is the chat window. Lobby chat appears there. The left side is the list of players in the lobby. The right side displays the games.
If you check the "Show when someone speaks" or "Show when someone enters/leaves" or "Show when new game" check boxes, the tool will display itself upon those conditions. For example, if you only wanted to be notified when a new game was created you could check "Show when new game" and then minimize WON Lobby Spy. It will pop back up as soon as a game is created.
Double-click on a player from the center list to select them, then click the "ignore" or "whisper" button to send that command to the textline inside of Homeworld. You will have to press enter inside of Homeworld. This is handy when someone has a name with untypeable characters in the front of their name.
The lobby chat is logged to a file called "lobbyLog.txt" when the tool shuts down. The tool can be set to automatically shut down when you start a game or log off of WON.
Sometimes when you sit idle for too long in the lobby Homeworld disconnects you. The tool detects if you've been disconnected and alerts you.
You can also set the window to be top-most to keep it above all other windows.
