Hw 2 Game Manners

Hello, I heard something through the grapevine, and have not spoken to those involved. However for new clan members, old SF’ers (but new HW 2’ers), and for visiting guests, I wish to post some basic game manners that are HW2 specific. (and some that are universal)

  1. On certain maps, crimson, sarum and terah standing out in my mind, there definate ru patches for each person/position. Dont fight over em. Learn what they are, and try to stick to em.

  2. No trash-talking.

  3. Cursing to a minimum.

  4. If you are hosting, and its a SF only game, or you want specific players in the game because its a rematch or whatever, ASK the person who just jumped in to leave before kicking them. If after a reasonable amount of requests, or if they argue with you, then kick(close spot) them.

5.Never kick IN a game. EVER.

  1. If at the end of a agme, and its hopeless, ask if yu can surrender. If they say no. then die slowly. If they get boastful/and or abusive, then stretch game out as long as you can using cloaks, sensor distrtion probes, and wild jumps. (Perhaps the next time they’ll let you surrender.)

  2. At end of game where you have won, and even more so if you have crushed the bad guys, dont capture their ships. It adds insult to injury. Kill them. Never capture, at end of game, fellow SF players, let them surrender, or if they wish, (so they can watch the pretty BOOMS) blow em up.

  3. Dont stretch out a game to add points to yur score. I have been in situations where the bad guys have built up the perfect fleet in a 3v2 game (and Im on the 2 team), just so they can obliterate us. (Usually they are gloating during this hole process. )

9…ANy ideas?

  1. Don’t take credit that isn’t yours.

I’m guilty of that mistake.

Very good outline HH. I know several people who would benefit from reading this.

Even though I’m not SF, I try to apply these rules as best I can.

  1. Don’t quit games without warning, don’t quit games unless there is a justifiable reason to.
  1. If someone drops try to sort it out diplomaticaly between yourselves. don’t just kick or drop yourself without discussion with the other team

Well i thought something would be posted about number 7 at some point, though I have never applied that rule to good fun games with SF vs SF since its always just a bunch of goofball random stuff. (LOL @ MS rams and probe swarms… even fleets of dronefrigs (HW1) )

But having a certain amount of integrity has to be maintained against other players… even if they are the worst trashtalkers in the game.

and LOL damn you DoD with your marine frigs :stuck_out_tongue:

HH,

If this is being clan policy than I would have to bring my official apologies to Max for capturing his Mothership earlier today.

I usually use any means availalbe to me by game mechanics. And yes most of the times I have no problems allowing people to surrender if they desire to do so. However if no request to surrender has been made I used to capture ships or kill them or both whatever gets job done first since when you shoot at ship and it’s structuere indicator goes down the capture indicator directly relates to it and will actually may bring ship down faster and end the game instead of shooting ship only.

It depends.

With that said once again I bring official apologies to Max for capturing his MS and as of immediately I won’t use capture as a means to end the game since it can be considered by some as a form of griefing which was never intended by me as such however, I could see it being viewed as such.

With best regards. Sasha|SF

this is not clan policy, its just something that most of us would request. just to be respectful.

but if anyone knows how i play, its what my name is. PUURE EVIL.

i dont abide by any rules. i play to win, and if that means shitting in their faces because they boasted a bunch and i kick the shit outa them, so be it.

ive said it before, i got my name from Starcraft where i would betray anyone on my team if they did not fully support the battle as much as i did. in HW2’s case, you cant really do that, well you can, but its allmost suicide, and im not a dumb player. but i still play that way with anything else.

yesterdayi played a game with two whom i believe were noobs against three trash talking smurfs, we didn’t do too badly aas although we had a slow start we soon picked up and went from the back foot to front and took the center one of the players on my team took 15-20 minutes before he hyad any frigs, and this is where we lost the game so i played along and stated playing hide n seek with my cc and sy which almost had a bc when it was destroyed and fair play to them they did it quick with 2 bc one with grav and a ms.

what really got my back up was the way they started to trashtalk usat the end and then came after my cc with IF friggs!!! at which point i quit!!!

Darc out

just a friendly comment…

  1. i thought that was a joke, but of course always good to sit on ur own turf

    1. mind i, i have heard couple out of some sf, so, its good to have such rule
  2. dunno why you need to surrender unless u have to go. do as much living as possible (without that hyper/cloak crap) and see how long you can live, hell i even tried too hard when it became 1v2(1 sf, 1 some guy) and pwned them over… struggle, best way to become good. and dont u ever hyper/cloak out when you have nothing but a couple cc at end of game unless you see some valid chance in that or i’ll be pissed to spread a word about someone being a girly jerk to run out to live like a moron.

  3. marine on a dieing guy is nothing insulting… i dont get it, he has the option to blow up if he choose to do so, and ends the game quicker than waiting for 12 lasers to kill the ms or wait for far bc to hyper in to finish it off.

the followings are not manners and im not in a place to tell u more game manners, but there it is.

a ) learn how to scout / probe. no one ever does it but some limited people. this is most important aspect in a game to know what they are up to and make sure you get the right counter. every strat has a counter, which means, once you do that, you win no matter what and scout/probe is the key to it, but no one seems to think it this way yet.

b ) learn advanced strats. sy transfer, mod transfer, ship trasnfer, angle dd, double dd, emp(this is not advanced, but i see far less people use it and gets omfgpwned by my emp scouts) whatever have you. (no bc swap to recover health of course)

c ) learn how to counter strats (countering above mentioned advanced strats is to basically do the similar). it sounds insulting to u or something but every game i play against sf, my hyper torp more or less succeeds with following hypercap to wreak havok in one of your team mate… and to some extent, it’s getting old…

if you know how to scout and probe as the first build than anything else, you can counter hyper torp with just a grav and few bombers, which then will waste more ru on the attacker side.

so, there you go :stuck_out_tongue:
hope to see gg with u bunch

^bump^

I see way too many people not scout or send only 1 probe the entire game and then wonder how I beat them so easily. Also advanced strats work best when i can talk to you on teamspeak, so basically GET TEAMSPEAK!
