Neighbornode!

Wondering a bit about it

Well i just got my college laptop not long ago. And i couldent wait to use it. So when i wanted to connect to the internet i thought, o shit the internet in my house is not wireless but instead connected by Ethernet cables.

So, instead my laptop picked up a internet signal, so i signed on. But i don’t know who’s it is. Unfortunetly there are some neighbors i don’t like so i hope its the new couple that just moved in.

I dont like using the connection if i dont know who it belongs to, or at least have permission. So i was thinking of getting my own wireless router. And if i do i can set up my own NEIGHBORNODE.

But im a little hesitant since i think i have a crappy connection.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts. Has anyone been part of one, has one, or is now thinking about it?

I’ve stolen… i mean used countless wireless connections.. i pick up roughly 5 in my flats living room alone

Sometimes the collage laptops they give you are kind of crapy and yes just use somebody elses connection if its unlocked, when its unlocked their saying to the world everybody come use ours :stuck_out_tongue: !!

and if you do use a connection that is unlocked, you have to be careful they could find you

You ever got into trouble?

The dell xps has an ethernet cable port as well as a wireless card. Just plug your home internet’s ethernet cable into the port and you’ll be good.

Hey, a flat full of IT guys… we’re smart enough not to get caught
